75 Pa.C.S. § 3102

Obedience to Authorized Persons Directing Traffic

Pennsylvania's Vehicle Code names constables alongside police officers and sheriffs as authorities motorists must obey when directing traffic. The legislature placed constables on functional parity with police for traffic-direction authority.

§ 3102. Obedience to authorized persons directing traffic.

No person shall willfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of any uniformed police officer, sheriff or constable invested by law with authority to direct, control or regulate traffic or any flagman at a construction or maintenance site.
